And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ

Ephesians 4:11-12, ESV

Equipping the Saints.

The Biblical Living Center wants to come alongside the local church to help them shepherd their members well. We do this by equipping the saints to equip the saints. All our workshops and consultations are designed to help a church live out Ephesians 4:11-12 and Galatians 6:1-10, equipping them to care for one another. We can also offer dedicated hours of counseling for your church. Find out how your church can take advantage of this important resource for a 12, 6, or 3-month period.

I used to be skeptical when I heard of pastors and leaders meeting with a counsellor regularly for guidance, help, and check ins. A year ago, I changed my mind and decided to try it. I booked one session with Brian and now it’s a recurring event in my calendar. The check in’s I’ve had have been very encouraging and helpful. As our relationship has grown, I’ve recommended several times that people I care for meet with Brian and Biblical Living Center is now at the top of my list when other pastors ask me for my recommendation for Biblical counselling

Workshops

At the Biblical Living Center, we believe that the local church is God’s chosen instrument for healing, growth, and transformation. But we also recognize that many pastors, ministry leaders, and volunteers feel overwhelmed, under-equipped, or uncertain when it comes to walking with people through life’s deepest struggles.

That’s where we come in.

Our workshops are designed to equip the church — not replace it. We come alongside your leadership to offer biblical insight, practical tools, and soul-strengthening care that aligns with your mission and theology. Whether your people are struggling with anxiety, burnout, relationship issues, or simply want to grow in wise, compassionate care for others, our workshops provide space to learn, reflect, and be refreshed.

What We Offer

COMING ALONGSIDE

Leadership Team Wellness Check

Effective leaders are healthy leaders. Effective leaders also have the humility and wisdom to steward their well-being proactively. The Biblical Living Center offers a Wellness Check program for you and your team that allows participants to “look under the hood” to understand what areas of life need attention. We look at spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational aspects of life to offer a well-rounded diagnosis with a practical and biblical plan to move forward in a Jesus-led ministry.

Blended Family Pre-Marriage Counseling

God uses marriage to sanctify us. That process can be hard enough when two young people start from scratch and build a family one child at a time. Re-marrying, children from previous marriages, often between older folks, and all the challenges these situations bring can be tough to navigate. Before you get to the wedding date, consider booking a few sessions with our Certified Biblical Counselors to help you think through those challenges, how they will affect your marriage, and how God intends to help you in your unique situation.

Biblical Living Groups

Peer counseling care is a vital way to help people who suffer. Talking about shared experiences helps people feel less alone and more supported. Biblical Living Groups serve to bring the ways we struggle day to day into the light and help people look outside themselves in order to help one another. These support groups are held several times throughout the year. They cover several topics, such as anxiety, anger, trauma, and general suffering. Contact us today to know when the next group will be available.

Consulting

Safeguarding Against Abuse

We are committed to helping churches become places of safety, integrity, and trust. We offer guidance and support to help your leadership develop a biblically grounded safeguarding plan that protects the vulnerable—children, survivors of abuse, and those at risk—within your congregation. From policy consultation to training your team in wise, compassionate response, we partner with you to create a culture where accountability, transparency, and Christlike care are the norm, not the exception.

Pre-Marriage

Although compatibility is essential for two people getting married, compatibility only helps a couple choose to get married. If we are honest, when they come to a church to get married, they’ve largely decided they are already there. A couple needs a Gospel-centered view of marriage and how God can equip them not just to survive, but flourish. What if that same approach could help you disciple and care for the already-married couples in your church?
Ask us how we can help you develop a new way to disciple your newlyweds for lasting marriages for God’s glory.

Continuum of Care

Does shepherding your church often feel like you are building a plane in mid-flight? Do you often feel like you are the only one building it? Have you ever considered that your primary role is to equip your church to do the ministry work and not do all of it yourself? Having a clear, well-planned continuum of care is foundational to shepherding a healthy and thriving church.

Ask us how we can come alongside you and your leadership to develop a comprehensive system of care and start equipping your church to care for one another.

Testimonial:

"Brian has truly been an answer to prayer for us. He consistently pointed us back to the bible, gave us good counsel, and helped us to get unstuck in our marriage. He encouraged us to put our hope in Jesus and helped us to hear and love each other better. He also did an incredible job advocating for both of us but still challenging us to own our areas of weakness and work through them with the Lord. We would highly recommend Brian Alton and the Biblical Living Center to anyone in need of counseling.”
